Kirstin and Justin
Such a lovely day with two very shy souls. I knew from the outset that this wedding would be an emotional one, as Kirstin’s father had passed away not long before. That’s a huge weight of emotion to carry into a wedding day, and it was something I approached with real care and sensitivity.
We’d done the usual practice shoot beforehand and talked things through, including how Kirstin’s uncle would walk her down the aisle. That kind of preparation is invaluable—it allows me, as a photographer, to anticipate meaningful moments and be in the right place during the ceremony and speeches, without ever being intrusive.
Both Kirstin and Justin were quite camera-shy, so rather than asking them to “perform,” I gave them space to relax and simply enjoy the day together. That’s always where the magic happens. My job is to quietly catch those genuine smiles when they appear—and they absolutely did.
Their family and friends were warm, welcoming, and full of kindness, and once again I felt incredibly grateful to work with such wonderful people. I’ve truly been blessed with amazing couples over the years.
The church was a standout for me. Holy Cross Catholic Church is stunning inside, with architecture that reminded me of the hull of an upside-down boat—peaceful, grand, and beautifully atmospheric.
Here’s a lovely piece of feedback from the couple:
“Excellent photos. Tony went above and beyond with the photography. The photos turned out amazing and everyone was asking if he was a family friend and he slotted in so nicely and was friendly with everyone.”
