Shannon & Connor’s Auckland Wedding.
The relentless rain could not stop this young couple from saying I do. Set in the lush gardens of Shannon’s grandparents’ home, this was a day for everyone to treasure.
Shannon was probably the most relaxed bride I have worked with. Even as the issues kept coming, she just rolled with them, pivoted and stayed calm. They pushed the ceremony back and while it tried to rain just briefly during the ceremony it was very minor and short lived. In the end, it made zero difference and we all got the perfect back yard wedding. Vows were read, tears were shed and everyone had the most idyllic day. Sure, the chairs kept sinking into the lawn and showers persisted but inside the marquee you couldn’t tell and Kiwi’s know how to get on with things and how to party!
When I did the practice session, I knew this was going to be a great day, Shannon has an eye for detail and is a naturally gifted planner. Both Shannon and Connor were determined not to let anything derail their day and they pulled it off in style. You’ll see from the photos that Shannon’s dress got progressively muddier, but she didn’t let it phase here. We heard wonderful speeches that showed just how much the extended families love having Shannon and Conner join them. These love birds have been together for 10 years and so they were both very well embedded in the extended family. Talking of family, I was made to feel very welcome and just like one of the family. I ended up staying longer than planned because I was enjoying myself and I also didn’t want the day to end.
It was a magic day and I feel truly blessed to have been a part of it.
