Chiedza & Foster – A Joyful Celebration at Abel Estate
There are days that feel less like work and more like witnessing something truly extraordinary. Chiedza and Foster’s wedding at Abel Estate was one of those days — bursting at the seams with love, laughter, and the kind of joy that stays with you.
The festivities began the day before, as I joined the family at home for an intimate glimpse of their Zimbabwean ceremony. Even then, the warmth and unity of their families was unmistakable.
When the big day arrived, the sun shone brightly over Abel Estate — a little miracle, considering it was the shortest day of the year. From the moment I stepped onto the lush grounds, I could feel the excitement in the air. Abel is a treasure of a venue, but on this day, love made every corner glow.
Chi looked radiant in her gown, elegance and happiness wrapped into one. Foster, waiting with his groomsmen, was visibly full of emotion. As tradition called, the aunties laid blankets on the path, welcoming Chi with joyful ululation as she made her way down the aisle with her father. That moment — filled with tradition, pride, and pure love — sent chills down my spine.
From the first moment I met them, it was clear that these two were deeply in sync. Foster’s adoration was unmistakable, and Chi’s joy in his presence was just as evident. Their ceremony was a testament to love rooted in faith, respect, and an unshakable bond. It wasn’t just beautiful — it felt meant to be.
After the vows, we captured family portraits amid laughter and light-hearted chaos. It was a big family, and they were eager to surround the couple with affection. As the sun dipped lower, we moved swiftly through the portrait locations we’d scouted — every shot filled with warmth and connection — and ended with a few quiet moments indoors, just the two of them curled into each other on a couch, love glowing quietly between them.
Then came the reception. What a celebration — drums, dancing, stories that drew both laughs and tears. One of the most moving moments was the wedding song, sung by all and lifted by the rhythm of drums. It was powerful. Communal. Unforgettable.
The joy was contagious. The love was undeniable. And yes… I cried. That doesn’t happen often, but this wedding had that kind of magic.
