Tui Hills Wedding Photographer

Tucked into the edge of the Waitakere Ranges, Tui Hills is one of the most distinctly New Zealand settings I've had the chance to photograph a wedding in — native bush, ferns, and nikau palms standing in for the manicured gardens you'll find at most Auckland venues. It's thirty minutes from town, but it feels like a different world entirely.

A setting that does the work for you

Every corner of the grounds offers something different to shoot against — dense native bush for portraits with real depth and texture, open lawn for the ceremony itself, and pockets of native garden that catch soft, filtered light through the afternoon. For a couple wanting their photographs to feel unmistakably of this country rather than generic, Tui Hills is hard to beat.

Why I love photographing here

‍I photographed Ellie & Ryan's wedding at Tui Hills, and it's stayed with me since — the venue has a way of making a big day feel grounded and unhurried, exactly the kind of atmosphere that produces the candid, quiet moments alongside the romantic portraits I look for at every wedding. You can read about their day here: Ellie & Ryan's wedding at Tui Hills.
