Tay & Jesse – Country Vibes at The Barn Waimauku
Some weddings just have a certain energy from the very beginning — and Tay and Jesse’s day had it in abundance.
The day started with bridal prep, giving us a chance to ease into things and capture those quieter, more personal moments. One of the real highlights was Tay’s first look with her dad and bridesmaids — such a genuine, emotional moment and the perfect way to begin what would become a very heartfelt day.
From there, we made our way to The Barn Waimauku for a beautiful woodland ceremony. Tucked among the trees, it created a relaxed, intimate setting that suited them perfectly. There’s something about that natural backdrop that always brings a calm, grounded feel to a ceremony.
Tay is a big country music fan, and that influence was woven beautifully into the day. One of the standout moments came during the speeches, when her mum sang — something a little different, and incredibly special. It added such a personal touch and really set the tone for what followed.
The speeches overall were some of the most emotional I’ve seen — plenty of tears, plenty of laughter, and a real sense of connection between everyone in the room. Those are always the moments that stay with you.
And then… the food.
An amazing BBQ that, honestly, might just be one of the best I’ve ever had at a wedding. Relaxed, generous, and exactly what everyone needed to keep the energy going.
As the day rolled into evening, we headed out for sunset portraits — and this is where things really came together. Tay and Jesse were completely at ease, and it showed. Natural, confident, and just enjoying being together. They could easily be models, and the images we created in that golden light are some of my favourites from the day.
Then it was back to the party — and what a party it was.
The dance floor filled, the energy lifted, and everyone leaned right into the celebration. The kind of night where no one wants it to end, and the perfect way to finish a day that had already delivered so much.
Tay and Jesse’s wedding was the perfect mix of emotion, personality, and full-on celebration. A day that felt real, relaxed, and completely true to who they are.
