Markovina Vineyard Estate Wedding Photography

Intro

Set among rolling vines and landscaped gardens, Markovina Vineyard Estate is one of Auckland’s most versatile and sought-after wedding venues. With ceremony spots that work in both sunshine and rain, endless photo backdrops, and a warm, family-run team, it’s no wonder so many couples fall in love with this Kumeu gem.

I’ve photographed here multiple times, including Paige & Connor’s wedding — timed for the ten-year anniversary of their first date. Their day showed off everything Markovina has to offer: romantic gardens, a dramatic indoor ceremony space as backup, and golden light for portraits.

Sample Timelines for Golden-Hour Portraits

For an 8-hour full-day package (from $2,990), a typical flow looks like this:

  • 1:30–3:00pm: Bridal prep & details

  • 3:00–3:30pm: Ceremony outdoors (or indoors if wet weather)

  • 3:30–4:00pm: Family formals on the lawn or indoor atrium

  • 4:00–4:45pm: Bridal party portraits among the vines and gardens

  • 4:45–5:30pm: Couple portraits around the pond and driveway during golden hour

  • 5:30pm onward: Reception coverage through to first dance

This timeline flexes with ceremony times and the season’s light — we always leave room for golden-hour portraits.

Wet-Weather Options at Markovina

One of the venue’s biggest strengths is its wet-weather plan. If the rain sets in, we move to the Barrel Room or covered spaces for portraits, and I bring professional off-camera flash to keep images clean and consistent. The indoor areas have enough space for family groups, while the stone and timber details add atmosphere to portraits.

Recent Weddings at Markovina Vineyard Estate

One wedding that really captures the spirit of Markovina is Paige & Connor’s celebration.

Timed for their ten-year anniversary, their day was filled with love, laughter, and the joy of raising their two young daughters. Even after days of rain, the skies cleared in time for a sun-filled ceremony. The gardens and vines gave us vibrant group shots, while golden-hour light meant unforgettable portraits.
